About

mommy and julian, age 6I had the fight of my life, overcoming breast cancer as a mom in my mid-thirties. The diagnosis came in May of 2014, exactly 3 weeks after I started my Life Coach training program and realized it was my life’s calling. Everything came to a screeching halt for a year while I underwent multiple surgeries and 5 grueling months of chemotherapy.

I went on to finish that training and others, and now I’m using my personal and professional experiences and living my dream of supporting others as a Healing Hope Cancer Coach. I help my clients understand their options, develop the best care team and a supportive network. Together we unpack the experience of having a cancer diagnosis, processing the emotional impact of a cancer. I offer stress reduction techniques to help manage fear and uncertainty, and coaching to support healing on all dimensions. After treatment ends, I help people find their personal roadmap through the pain and uncertainty, to a life fueled by clarity, personal strength and a connection to their unique life purpose. From diagnosis, through treatment and recovery, no one should go it alone!

I draw wisdom and inspiration from 10+ years of service managing a wellness center in Woodstock, NY and working at Omega Institute where I learned about many different healing modalities and wisdom traditions. I completed my coaching training through the internationally recognized Coaches Training Institute and have trained in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). I hold a ACC certification through the International Coach Federation, and a certification as a Holistic Cancer Coach.

As a coach, I rely on my gentle and grounded intuitive nature, along with a good dose of directness and humor. With supported inquiry, body centered improvisational games and EFT in my tool kit, I offer a safe space for my clients to process emotions, manage their fears and bring new energy and focus into their lives.

I have served as a Life Coach at Omega Institute, Woodstock Healing Arts, and work with clients in my private practice in Kingston, NY offering sessions in person, as well as phone or skype for clients who live further away. You can learn more about my work as a coach at www.MelissaEppardCoaching.com

I blogged intimately about my experience of healing from breast cancer and have shared my stories with large audiences at Story Slam events, in Conquer Magazine and as a guest blogger for the Young Survival Coalition.

I live in the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY area with my son and talented musician husband. I derive inspiration and energy from writing, reading, various spiritual wisdom traditions, gardening, hiking, poetry, art, music and my family.

There is light at the end of the tunnel!
