I got a wonderful phone call last night. It appears that my recent blood work and PET scan have confirmed that this cancer is confined to my breast and has not metastasized to any other part of my body. That was the BEST thing I have heard in a long time!!! I am so grateful to have caught this early! Surgery has been scheduled for this coming Tuesday. I feel I am as ready as can possibly be.
I know many of you will be eager to connect post-surgery to see how things went. I will ask Joey to post an update on my behalf the night of or the day after surgery. To all my friends and family, I’d like to thank you in advance for all your prayers and offers of support, and I would also like to ask that you let us be the ones to reach out. It will be important to have the space and quiet to transition home and create a nice healing bubble in our house. We know to reach out if we need help and we are so grateful for all the offers of support. If I can hug you with my words, this is it…. Ungggh! (One big squeeze from me.)
As I am so prayed for and watched over, so are you. Love is everywhere.

I am a professionally trained and certified Life Coach with personal experience overcoming cancer as a mom in my mid-30's. After a diagnosis in 2014 I began blogging as a way to communicate with my family and friends, but it soon became much more than that. Writing was my lifeboat and connection with the outside world while immune compromised and healing from surgery.
Now I’m using my personal and professional experiences and living my dream of supporting others as a Healing Hope Cancer Coach. I help my clients understand their options, develop the best care team and a supportive network. Together we unpack the experience of having a cancer diagnosis, processing the emotional impact of a cancer. I offer stress reduction techniques to help manage fear and uncertainty, and coaching to support healing on all dimensions. After treatment ends, I help people find their personal roadmap through the pain and uncertainty, to a life fueled by clarity, personal strength and a connection to their unique life purpose. From diagnosis, through treatment and recovery, no one should go it alone!
I draw upon 10+ years of work immersed in holistic health and wellness. I was born and raised in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York and live there still with my husband and son. My survivorship blog Melissashealinghope.com chronicles my healing journey. You can learn more about my work as a coach at MelissaEppardCoaching.com.

tears of joy.
That is good news! Wishing you the best of luck on Tuesday.
Thank the Blessed Goddess! I am praying for you and your family! Love!
So very, very, very happy for you!!!
I have read every post – some many times – and always come away speechless. Your grasp of this terrible disease and how it affects every aspect of your life amazes me. Wayland and I have known way too many people that have had to learn to incorporate this “change” into their lives – including ourselves – and I must say you are an inspiration. Your ability to express the turmoil and emotions of being slammed into a damn wall of pain is exceptional. Many of us find it difficult to verbalize how we feel, what we need, when we need it, etc, but you do it so gracefully and lovingly. I just want you to know that your Minnesota family loves you very much and are sending you healing energy. So with that said…peace and blessings to you, Joey, and Julian.
Much love,
Barbara
Thank you Barb and Poppa. We feel your love from afar. Our initial conversations about this seem so long ago and even though I was hurting and sometimes left uncomfortable silences, you were both so strong and reassuring. I count you among my angels standing vigil. Love you too!

So glad to hear such excellent news, Melissa.
Wishing you a smooth procedure on Tuesday and a rapid recovery. May your surgeon’s hands be guided with spirit for the best outcome.
Please let us know how we can help here at the Program!
This is tremendous news!
You know we are all thinking, praying, meditating and sending loving, healing positive thoughts and energy your way. To Joey and Julian too.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new era in your life. A rebirth! Go forward with the grace and strength that we – family and friends – see, and have always seen, in you.
Love, love, love.
Fiona
