As we prepare to turn the page on 2015, it is a great time to stop and take stock, to acknowledge all of your successes and hard work over the past year. Look how far you have come! This reflective pause is vitally important in our culture of distraction and forward momentum. There are endless things on the to-do list, tons of unfinished projects and goals yet unmet. Guess what? They will continue to be there. Yes, most of us can’t even remember what we had for dinner last night, let alone where we were last year at this time. But stop and think back to last January, and allow your mind to scroll through the seasons. What were some the biggest surprises of the year? What did you learn? What did you start, and what things did you finish? What did you gain and what did you release? What needs further releasing still? You may like to close your eyes and place your hand over your belly and with love and gratitude, seal in this feeling of appreciation for your incredible year and all you have accomplished.
WHY THE PAUSE? From this filled up place of appreciation, we lay the vibrational framework for a great new year to come! Too often we are busy pushing for more, to do more, earn more, BE more, and too busy kicking ourselves for the places where we have “failed” or fallen short of our expectations or the perceived expectations of others. Try this on for size next time that snarky inner-sabotear pipes in with that “failure-talk”… Instead of “where did I go wrong”, ask yourself, “what did I learn about myself?”
You have a clean slate and 100% creative license, so what do you want to do with it?! Who do you need to be now so that a year from now, you can look back and say, “Wow, 2016 was such an amazing year!”
Take the Most Challenging Thing on the Horizon and See it Done
Here is a great tool you can use when you have a big project, job or event looming on the horizon and you feel the wheels of stress starting to spin you off center. Stop what you are doing, close your eyes and see it done! Imagine that it’s the day after this event and it was a huge success. Visualize the ease and flow that came together, and bask in the feeling of satisfaction and appreciation for what you’ve accomplished. Breathe in that feeling, taking as much pause as you need to really feel the ease this brings in your body, as you let your shoulders slide down away from your ears, your heart now in full alignment with the actions and events before you. See it done and so it is!
I wish you and yours a joyous and Happy Holiday season. Let’s all shine our best and brightest selves in this new year to come!
With Love,
Melissa
Happy Happiness to you & yours ♡♡♡
